Earthquake Wiki

This wiki is designed to be a public service for our community.

Because we live so very near a GIGANTIC fault,

earthquakes will continue to occur and effect our lives.

We must continue to learn from the past in order to prepare for the future.

Here is the deal (and here is where it works to our advantage that no one but us can read these comments):
1) Using images that are found on "google images" is generally ILLEGAL.
2) There are many LEGAL "copyright-free" or "Fair Use" sites available with varied requirements.
3) Unfortunately, I searched through them, and there are very few images I believe you would want to use.
4) Here is one of the definitive sources for website copyright legality in education:
http://fairuse.stanford.edu/Copyright_and_Fair_Use_Overview/chapter6/index.html

What this means for us:
I will allow you to use an image that you have taken from another website, however:
1) You MUST include either a caption underneath the photo identifying where it came from or even better, a link to their page.
2) We will put an explanation at the bottom of our Front Page stating "CaliEarthquakes1 is an educational website built by students at a California public school designed with the purpose of saving lives within our community. The site is solely designed to provide information, and the school/students receive zero compensation".
3) We will also include the disclaimer: "If you wish for any image, icon, video, or link to be removed from the site, please contact the instructor: Craig Miller"
